Free Play
At St Paul’s Preschool, free play is an important part of every child’s day.
We believe children learn best when they are given time, space and encouragement to explore. Free play allows children to make choices, follow their own ideas, build friendships and develop important early learning skills in a natural way.
Free-flow indoor and outdoor play
During the session, children are encouraged to move between indoor and outdoor activities where appropriate. This free-flow approach gives children the freedom to choose where they play and how they want to develop their ideas.
Our staff carefully supervise both areas and support children as they explore safely, confidently and independently.
Child-led learning
Children are encouraged to ask for resources, develop their own games and expand their ideas. This helps them become active learners who feel confident making choices and expressing themselves.
Adults are always nearby to guide, encourage, observe and support learning when needed.
